The American Kennel Club is an organization dedicated to the advancement of the study of purebred dogs, as well as their breeding, exhibition, and maintenance. The AKC's roots originate in 1884, when several dog clubs around the country saw a need for a "club of clubs" which would eventually become organized and incorporated. The organization has a long, rich history of registration for purebred dogs and has developed rules and regulations that apply to registration and the many dog shows held throughout the country.
You will use the AKC website to answer the 6 questions in the activity. (Bookmark this site, as it will be used several times throughout the duration of this course.)
