Tom McAvoy is Associate Director of Business Operations for the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation's (UAHSF) Management Services Organization. The UAHSF, a member of the UAB Health System, is an academic physician group practice consisting of more than 700 providers. The MSO, a department within UAHSF, manages all revenue-cycle-related functions and systems for the group. Mr. McAvoy is responsible for Managed Care, Decision Support, IDX systems and support, and business development.
Mr. McAvoy was previously a senior consultant in Ernst and Young's Healthcare Consulting practice. Prior to joining Ernst and Young, he was a senior accountant with United Healthcare.
Mr. McAvoy graduated from the University of Alabama - Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from University of Alabama - Birmingham (UAB).
