 Quitting the Word Program

There are two ways to quit the Word program (Figure 1.9). The "proper" way to exit the program is to point to the File menu, then clicking on the Exit command in the drop down menu box. The other way is to click the close button on the right side of the Title Bar.

It is very important that you always save your document before quitting the Word program. Luckily, if you haven't saved your document, Word will display a dialog box warning that your work hasn't been saved and give you the opportunity to save before exiting. However, a best practice is to always save before exiting - just in case.
