The Certified Bookkeeper program is designed for those with a basic knowledge of bookkeeping. We recommend that you have at least one year of general bookkeeping experience or one year of college accounting experience when you enroll.
After completing the program, you'll need to meet the following requirements to achieve the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation:
1. Experience: At least 2 years' full-time experience or the part-time or freelance equivalent, which may be obtained before or after passing the examination.
2. Examination: Candidates must pass a 4-part national examination, including 2 parts given at any Prometric Test Center (there are over 300 nationwide).
3. Code of Ethics: Applicants must sign a Code of Ethics.
