Viewing Your Drawing
Because AutoCAD drawings are drawn to full scale, it would be difficult to create them precisely on the computer screen without the ability to move in and out around your work. If you are working on a map of the United States, you will need to get closer to see roads in specific cities. If you are working on a house, you will need to focus on particular sections so that you can place doors precisely next to walls, etc. The ZOOM and PAN commands allow the user to specify which area of the drawing to display on the screen.
